THE WESCO CORPORATE FOUNDATION

From the very beginning, we have been committed every day to enabling children to learn and grow up in the best possible conditions. Beyond simply being a sponsor, we wanted to go further by giving strength and meaning to our actions. This is how our Wesco Corporate Foundation was born in 2012.

Accompany
those who need it most

Childhood is a key period for the construction of the adult in the making. We are aware that not all children have the same resources and do not all evolve in environments conducive to their proper development. It is with this in mind that our Corporate Foundation has taken on its full meaning!

The first three years of a child's life are crucial to his or her development. The Wesco Corporate Foundation supports actions that promote the awakening, well-being and development of babies.

L

The Nurturing of Early Childhood and Parenthood

We support innovative projects that help reduce social inequalities and give the most vulnerable children back their confidence and hope.

L

PROTECTION and INCLUSION of children

Building tomorrow's world means giving children access to education, culture and sport. By supporting local, regional and national actions, we are acting to promote equal opportunities for all children.

L

INSERTION through education, sport & culture

For more than 15 years, Wesco has taken into account the impact of its activity on the environment. The company continues this commitment through the Foundation by supporting actions that promote education in contact with nature.

Our actions in progress

Committed locally or on a larger scale, here are the associations we currently support. Although their scope is different, all these associations have one thing in common: they work for children!

Solidarity donations

Created in 2004 and recognized as a public utility, the Dons Solidaires association's mission is to fight against waste and precariousness by collecting unsold goods from companies, which it then distributes throughout the territory to benefit those who need them most.
Since 2015, the Wesco Corporate Foundation has been supporting the association's youth section, in particular through the "Kit Scolaire" operation: a solidarity operation to provide families in difficulty with what they need for the start of the new school year, new quality supplies distributed via partner associations throughout France.

Bocage Sports Discovery School - Ex Aequo Program

The Bocage Sports Discovery School (79) has set itself the mission of awakening and introducing all children to sport, of making them discover different activities and of promoting sporting values such as team spirit.
Since 2016, we have been supporting the projects developed by EDS around the inclusion of children with disabilities through sport, through the "Ex Aequo" programme. Adapted, non-competitive sporting activities enable everyone to significantly increase their self-confidence and change the way they look at disability. We're all equal at the starting line!

Deux-Sèvres Ornithological Group: Educational Activities in Schools

This association, based in Niort, aims to study and protect wild birds in the Deux-Sèvres department. In parallel, it conducts information and awareness campaigns for children (schools, community centers, etc.).
For the past four years, the foundation has renewed its support for the association for a project aimed at students in the department. Through educational activities and field observations, children will be invited to discover the birds around them and to better understand the issues related to the preservation of biodiversity.

Créa Spectacles: Replacement for the Créa'Bus

This performing arts company, based in Normandy, has made it its mission to make culture accessible to as many people as possible. Thanks to their mobile and immersive stage, the Créa'Bus, they can reach audiences who are far removed from culture, bringing art to places where it is not necessarily expected!
After more than 13 years of performances, the Créa'Bus needs to be replaced. The foundation is supporting this renewal project to allow this immersive mobile performance venue to continue its mission with young audiences and families, particularly in rural areas and priority neighborhoods, so that thousands of children can continue to discover live performance close to home.

It offers a diverse range of services and activities for all residents of the area, with a particular focus on children, families, and inclusion.
The foundation supports the development of forest recreation programs, a project that allows children to have educational experiences in direct contact with nature. By encouraging exploration, independence, and environmental awareness, these programs offer young participants an environment conducive to awakening their senses, discovering new things, and learning respect for all living things.

The Meanings of Wood: Restoring meaning through wood

Located in Pouzauges (85), Les Sens du Bois is a shared production and training space dedicated to wood as a material. A true resource center for professionals, residents, and schoolchildren, it promotes local expertise, the use of local resources, and reuse through workshops, visits, and awareness-raising activities.
The foundation's support will enable the implementation of an educational project, jointly led by Les Sens du Bois and Sèvre Environnement, conducted with students in the ULIS program at the Pouzauges middle school. Through the design and construction of a wooden structure, the young people experience teamwork, discover the professions within the wood industry, and gain confidence through a tangible achievement they can be proud of.

The Meaning of School: Promoting School Engagement

Le Sens de l'École intervenes to help students in grades 4, 5, and 6 from priority education networks regain confidence, motivation, and meaning in their schooling. By working alongside teachers, it develops initiatives that allow children to better understand the role of school and become active participants in their learning.
The foundation supports the program's implementation with approximately 200 students. By addressing the root causes of school dropout and educational inequalities, this project contributes to a lasting improvement in the school climate and empowers every child to believe in their abilities and success.

The foundation supports the RELEV project (Educational and Playful Respite for Vulnerable Children), which aims to strengthen inclusion within leisure centers. In the Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Pays de la Loire regions, the program supported by the Foundation will benefit 400 classes and nearly 8,800 students. Living together, Fri For Mobberi

Developed in Denmark for over 20 years and implemented in France by the Ligue de l'Enseignement, the Vivre Ensemble – Fri For Mobberi program aims to prevent bullying from a very young age. Based on the development of psychosocial skills and a sense of belonging to a community, it relies on four essential values: tolerance, respect, kindness, and courage.
Thanks to the Foundation's support, 10 facilitators will be trained using the "Train the Trainer" approach. They will then train over 700 professionals over three years, reaching thousands of young children. This initiative aims to establish more inclusive and caring practices in a lasting way, creating environments that foster social cohesion from early childhood.

The Oasis of Talents: Development of the sports branch

Located near Nantes, in Couëron, the Oasis des Talents welcomes children and young people with disabilities who have no school placement options. In a caring and stimulating environment, the association offers activities that promote learning, self-expression, and maintaining social connections.
The foundation's support will allow for two additional half-days of sports workshops in Nantes. These activity sessions will offer more young people the opportunity to develop their motor skills, coordination, and self-confidence. They will also provide valuable respite for families, who often face a lack of suitable options.
