LEARNING IS AN OPPORTUNITY

While thousands of schoolchildren return to school each year, many are not so lucky.

Because learning should never be a privilege, but a fundamental right for ALL children,

On the occasion of our 50th anniversary, we reaffirm our commitment to education accessible to all with a collective video. A project to highlight children deprived of schooling, led by associations committed to inclusion and the right to education, united around a conviction:
that every child has the opportunity to learn and flourish.

Learning is a chance,
A collective video

supported

Thanks to its associations, many children find their way back to school:

Autism 3D

Autism 3D is a support and training center and a research unit dedicated to Neurodevelopmental Disorders, including autism (ASD), located in Val-de-Marne (94).

Autism 3D has developed, among other things, a program and an adapted space, created by and for autistic people. The goal is to support their development, valuing their potential and encouraging their entry and retention in class, to give them every opportunity to flourish.

CLASSES

The association CLASSES supports the right to school for all children.

Present unconditionally and over the long term alongside families in precarious housing, it builds a relationship of trust to support the schooling of children, the training of young people and ensure their development. It acts as close as possible to families, in the living areas, and facilitates access to educational, social, cultural institutions... It works to change views and practices, while respecting the rights and place of each person.

The Oasis of Talents

The Oasis of Talents welcomes near Nantes (44) children with all types of disabilities and without suitable schooling solutions. The association sets up small group activities.

Through their actions, the association meets three objectives: to provide social connections for children, to enable them to continue their progress, and to offer respite to parents. It is through understanding, kindness, and sharing that the children welcomed at the Oasis des Talents grow up peacefully.

Solidarity donations

Created in 2004 and recognised as a public utility, the mission of the association Dons Solidaires is to fight against waste and poverty. It collects unsold new non-food items from companies and redistributes them to charities that give them to people in great difficulty. From companies to associations, Dons Solidaires mobilises the whole chain of solidarity to fight against exclusion.

Since 2015, the Wesco Corporate Foundation has been supporting the association's youth section, in particular through the "Kit Scolaire" operation: a solidarity operation to provide families in difficulty with what they need for the start of the new school year, new quality supplies distributed via partner associations throughout France.

The Enchanted School

Because sustainable and fulfilling education requires stabilizing the family's path, the Ecole Enchantiée supports families in situations of great precariousness, in Montreuil (93).

Present on the ground, close to families and in schools, the association's actions offer children and their families a concrete opportunity to escape isolation, reconnect with school and build a more peaceful future.

UNICEF

UNICEF, the United Nations Children's Fund, works in more than 190 countries and territories to defend the rights of every child to ensure equitable access to health, education and nutrition.

The Wesco Foundation supports the Poitou-Charentes branch and contributes to the distribution of books for 3-15 year-olds to promote reading. To facilitate access to and practice of sport, two projects are being carried out with children in precarious situations with two handball clubs in Niortais (79).

We join forces

to their fights

Major national associations are alerting and acting to reduce these injustices:

So that every child benefits

 of an adapted schooling method:

So that every child benefits

of decent housing:

So that every child starts the new school year properly equipped:

And concretely,
What does it look like?

Since our beginnings, we have been committed every day to enabling children to develop and grow in the best possible conditions. Beyond being a simple patron, we wanted to go even further by giving strength and meaning to our actions. This is how the Wesco corporate foundation was born in 2012.

The Wesco Foundation is a dedicated team that meets several times a year, has a unanimously approved budget, and supports several projects. In all transparency, here is our report:
